As the parent of a pre-teen or teenager, you may long for the days when you could hold your child on your lap and they were eager to talk, laugh, and play with you. Those days may be long gone, but you can still find ways to connect with your teen. Here are a few tips to make process easier.

Talk About Your Past Experiences
If your teen is having a problem, they may think they are the only one in the world who has ever had that particular problem. Talk to your teen about the situations you experienced as a teen. The clothes and music may have changed, but you still dealt with peer pressure, sex, drugs, and homework. Let them know you understand and will be there for them, if they want to talk about their problem. (more…)

Harold and Kumar’s John Cho Expecting Baby!

Harold and Kumar star John Cho and his wife, actress Kerri Higuchi, are expecting their first child. He has revealed that the baby is a boy.

“I’m really excited – and scared,” says Cho.

The actor who new film, Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, hit theaters April 25, admits to feeling a little overwhelmed at the idea of being a dad.

“They’re just going to give you the baby, and then you have to take it home. There aren’t any doctors around telling you what to do,” he says. “That thought is really scary to me.”

Help My Toddler is on the Loose!

Your lovely little baby has now turned into a lovely toddler, one problem though… He won’t sit still or worst he runs off every chance he gets. What’s a mom to do when your toddler is on the loose?

Here are a few recommendations for keeping your toddler close.

Action = Consequence - at this age your toddler won’t really understand a long winded explanation about why running off is dangerous. Instead use simple commands and show your toddler through actions that if he runs off there is a consequence, ie. He has to sit in the stroller or hold your hand. (more…)
